Potted Plants #3

Unexpected Diamonds

Potted Plants: Volunteer Tree
Unexpected Diamonds. Nikon N80, Nikon Nikkor 45mm f/2.8 P, X0 yellow/green filter. Fomapan 100 developed in Pyrocat HD.

This is a volunteer tree found as a seedling in our side garden along with 2 others. This one looked so perfectly formed, we let it grow for a year and then put it in a pot. An interested visitor suggests it may be an Eastern Red Cedar. If it is, it makes sense that it would have been “planted” by the little flock of Cedar Waxwings that visits the garden every fall. The needles have not flattened out and it is on year 4 so I have doubts and prefer to think of it as a mystery tree.
